If we are going to talk about climatic hazards, we can distinguish 3 types of them, they are Floods, Droughts and tropical cyclones. If we profundis more on the last one, we can also divide it into 3, which are diferentes depending on where they occur. If they occur in the Atlantic ocean or in the Northeastern Pacific ocean, they are called Hurricanes; if they occur in the Northwestern Pacific ocean they are called Typhoons, and if they occur in the South Pacific Ocean or Indian ocean they are called Cyclones. The word Hurricane, has its origin in the word “Hurakán”, which is the God of the storm, coming from Taino. The effects of this hazards, will depend on the economic development of the country and on how well prepared they were from them. These effects may also variate on different steps, primaries and secondaries, the primaries are the direct effects as the destruction of the city and the second ones may be floods or even broken pipes. These tropical storms had names, these names are designed by The World Meteorological organization, they develop a list of names and they assign them to each hazard season by season. Hurricanes, so as to occur, may have certain weather conditions, that they are, winds superior from 150mph, heavy rains and diferentes temperate air. Within this conditions, the hurricanes uses warm air as a fuel, this air began to rise and cause an area of lower pressure below. Atmospheric pressure from surrounding air, has a higher pressure so it moves, and it began warm also. As the warm air cools of the water, clouds are formed. This hole sistem of clouds and wind spins and grows. This kind of climatic hazards can be predicted by measuring storms and their intensity. this intensity is measured with a scale called Saffir-Simpson which goes from 0 to 5.

Starting to study climatic hazards we did a summary with information about it, here is mine
